HEALTH BENEFITS OF PAPAYA
HEALTH BENEFITS OF PAPAYA
I am amazed at the myriad health benefits of the humble papaya! Our brilliant Creator has given us a delicious, multi-purpose fruit providing more than 12 impressive health and beauty benefits. Also called pawpaw, they are loaded with Vitamins A, C, E, and K, plus B Vitamins, as well as calcium, magnesium, and potassium. Not to mention, papaya is a powerful antioxidant, making it an extremely valuable addition to a healthy diet. Another thing, among the various superfoods researchers have discovered, like the moringa plant and turmeric root, the papaya tastes much better! They're actually sweet. Wow, so much goodness in this unusual tropical fruit. There are more, but below I've listed 12 very good reasons to add papaya to your regular diet:
AN ANTIPARASITIC
Inside the oblong-shaped fruit, once you cut it open, you’ll find shiny little black seeds you can scoop out and swallow like pills. As a simple remedy, they are effective at killing parasites in the gut. I’ve read people in tropical climates occasionally consume them for this purpose. Using these are certainly much cheaper, safer, and simpler than pharmaceuticals!
When I buy papaya, we eat about ¼ cup of cut-up fruit along with a teaspoon of the seeds, about a dozen. Next time you shop, you might want to put a papaya or two in your cart! I know I plan to add them to my menu much more often.
Papaya is such a beneficial food--I encourage you to do more research for further information. For more tips on natural health, beauty, and homemaking, check out my book, GROUNDED, Simple Tips for Living Well, 2nd Ed.
